I thought so too, which is good as I warmed to the colour after seeing a new Luxor FFRR at my local dealer.

Luxor

Ipanema Sand

Im not an expert on colour matching to names! could i say its more of a womans skill? Shocked anyway its definitely the more silver of the two...as you can see in real life its a bit different to the photo (however blurred!) Mike

I probably see one a day at least now (when im out that is), in a fair few colours

Honestly - the front is growing on me, but its still lacking something, certainly not the presence the current sport has...im not a fan of the back at all, side view is similar to the current sport but i hate the front vent, looks stupid and the light return into the wing.

When you see them around they are more like the evoque in fact the red one i first saw on the road i thought was an evoque until i caught up and overtook it!

Colour really does make a massive difference, positive/negative, red i think is the worse colour ive seen, white was nice...but the version had loads of chaved up stuff!

The best shot i didn't take, was 2 in a queue with a disco, current sport and evoque - to me that highlighted how much they arent like the current sport but you could see the evoque DNA through into the FFRR, although i would stand by the opinion they are an Evoque XL rather than a sporty FFRR. Mike

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey

I agree with the Evoque 'look-a-like' comments as the couple I've seen I first thought were Evoques.

The back end is too racked IMHO and is likely that rear adult passengers would have restricted headroom and the RRS has never been a roomy cabin (considering the size of the car) it could be claustrophobic like the Evoque unless specified with the light interior colours- you'd also better specify the rear camera option is you ever want to reverse.

Rear bumper plastics just look cheap.

Unless you go the whole hog and get the Range Rover presence and buy a FFR its making the Disco look a better buy.

I assumed the Reversing Camera was still standard - but knowing the other F Censored k-ups not included i can believe it isnt.

Not seen the boot - in fairness the back didnt look cramped.

I couldnt agree more about the silly plastic bits and making them chrome helps nothing! Mike

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

I think that photo has done it for me. A month back I p/exed a 58 RRS tdv8 for a 12 plate D4 and also put a deposit down for the new RRS .
IMO the D4 is in terms of ride and finish a generation on from my RRS, even though the suspension was all sorted under warranty.

Whilst, I've been having some misgivings ref the style of the new RRS, as it looked like an Evoque on steroids, MSE's pic now makes me realise that there are 3 designs influences , Evoque, current RRS, and new FFRR. It doesn't really have a unique appearance. Sure, it'll be a wonderful vehicle to drive, but I'm going to request the dealer to convert my deposit to a 14 model D4 (so long as they don't charge extra for low range!).

I think you are correct with the three design influences, it is definitely bias towards the evoque - but you can see the three in it Mike
