Alloy wheels+tyres

Hi guys,

Whilst perusing fleabay for some possible used 20inch alloys+tyres, I came across the terminology TPMS and sensor valves (Tyres Pressure Monitoring System). I have a 2006 reg RRS Tdv6 and I am looking at some 20's taken off a 2012 RRS. My questions are:

1) Do 2006 RRS tdv6 HSE have TPMS and sensor valves?
2) Will the wheels from a 2012 RRS be Ok for 2006 RRS?
3) Can get the wheels changed at any tyre garage or does have to be at a Land Rover or Land Rover specialist garage?

Many thanks.

1) Probably optional extra.
2) Yes.
3) You're talking about just swapping wheels, right? If so, can do yourself or any garage. You might want to get 4 wheel alignment done, especially if changing wheel size.

fkarim, thsnk you very much for your replay. With regards to question 1, how will I be able to tell whether my 2006 RRS has got it?
Also, is there a way to tell whether the wheels are genuine Land Rover wheels? Thanks

I haven't got TPMS on my HSE but I believe one way to tell is the air valve stems are metal as opposed to rubber.

Genuine LR wheels have the "Land Rover" logo, LR part number for that particular wheel style and maximum allowed load stamped on the inside (along with some other info). That is not to say counterfeiters can't copy these.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will respond with definitive ways to identify.
