Alarm keeps going off, and the horn sounds once when trying

Evening all,

Only had the Sport for a week, and we seem to have a little problem with the alarm going off as and when it feels like it, then when you open and try to re-lock the car on the fob the horn sounds once.

From what I have read on here this means that the car is being told that something is open.

I am assuming as from what I can gather there is no way of testing the door sensors as they are sealed units? But the bonnet sensor can be tested. What I have done is disconnect the wire leading to the bonnet catch on the drivers side and inserted a bit of foil in between the wire plugs, is this the correct method?

If so, I will see if it does the job and then replace the sensor / latch. Failing that if the alarm continues to go off I guess it will be a trip to the dealers! Current rides -

Hi I have the same problem, alarm goes off says bonnet open.

Where is the sensor on the car for the bonnet? Is it just an unscrew unplug and replace item?

Does anyone have a picture of what I am looking for, is a by pass wire the best option or a replacement part off flea bay? Tdv8 range rover sport
