Wheel Cleaning

Just cleaned my wheels and found those little hard baked on bits of brake pad failed to come with wheel cleaner and a wheel brush.
Then I had an idea, keeping the wheels wet with wheel cleaner I used an old credit card to gently scrape away the offending items.
It work a treat, you all may already know about this but I was so please I felt I had to share it.

^^^ Agreed Thumbs Up

But as long as you are happy with the results, that's good. Personally, I'd not risk scratching my alloys (I leave that to mrs Bean Whistle Laughing ) with a credit card.

Products that I've found great at cleaning up wheels SAFELY are:
IronX
Sonax Extreme Full Effect Wheel Cleaner
P21 Red Power Gel

and try a tar cleaner too,

just gave my car a going over and the 3M wheel cleaner didn't touch it, so i added Wolf's De-ironiser to the mix and that didn't budge it, so i brought out the Wonder Wheels Acid and they still remained stuck fast

got my final inch of AutoSmart tardis tar remover and its started to remove the spots, then it slowly disappeared in to the block driveway when i knocked the bottle over Big Cry

i know, i know Embarassed the broken nilfisk didn't help and the extended "sod it its too cold to wash it" days

edit: I did, head down to the DIY jet wash armed with my pump sprayer filled with Magifoam and used there jetwash to jet it off and then spray wax and then spotless rinse

so its not been totally neglected Wink

Once you have got it clean...use something to make it easy to remove and clean regularly.

We are moving back to tar and flies to clean off now!! Mike
