Sat nav problem

After some help.
I bought a newer version sat nav disc from eBay and it come through non genuine. So i tried it and it updated ok. Now it won't let me enter a post code just a zip code and the map is fixed so sometimes it looks like I'm driving the wrong way.
So hunting again I found a genuine sat nav disc put that in and no difference.
After spending a fortune I just want a up to date sat nav. Big Cry
Can I re set my DVD unit then put a genuine disc in or can I buy a disc that updates over what's already on there?

LOL

When you go to the first enter Destination screen, where the map of Europe is. Press the Map then select UK instead of Belgium Whistle Whistle

For some reason, it always defaults back to Belgium! Thumbs Up

It worked! Very Happy but is still the same as the 2006 disc. Can't see what I'm gaining by updating the disc. I only done it because I wanted the version 3 display
I suppose the new roads will be on it but apart from that. Nothing different.

The disc only has the maps not the firmware that gives you the display Mike

As far as I am aware you cannot upgrade to the latest "look and feel" SatNav as its a completely different system from a different manufacturer.

Any upgrades offered on the older systems will be map updates and bug fixes only. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Glad I read this thread - gave me the courage to try my 'bargain' disc which (once I had changed the country to UK from the default Belgium) seems to work perfectly well so far. Smile 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

No; I only had to change from default Belgium to UK once at the 'destination' screen as described by Bodsy above and my £10 fleabay bargain disc appears working just fine. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
