105k Cam Belt Service in South West

Hi,

For anyone who lives in the South West, Devon, Somerset etc...

Blackdown 4x4 in Kentisbeare, EX15 2BB are offering a cam belt service, genuine Land Rover parts, both belts etc. for £395 +vat until the end of October, possibly to be extended. After some research and ringing around this seems like a great deal by knowledgable guys. For the cost of the parts they'll also do the rest of the service, (oil/filter etc.)

Mine's booked in next week, I'll keep you posted.

Hi all,

Cam belts done yesterday, no dramas, good service including courtesy car, price as promised. The old belts weren't worn, but did have signs of perishing on the inside due to age rather than mileage, so glad I got them done.

If that included the idlers and tensioner, then that's a good price.

Unfortunately, could not get the above price anymore. The best they could do for me was £571 inc. Although when I did ask about the tesioners and idlers, I was quoted an additional £96.94inc. My question is shouldn't the replacement of the tensioners and idlers be part of of the cam belt service, and if not, do I actually need to change them (tensioner and idlers) at all? My car has done about 76k, but its coming to its 7th year (2006 reg) hence reason I want to do the cam belt service. I am doing only the cam belt (not the 105k service as well, as the car had its 75k service just a few months ago), and the price above is for that. Thanks
