United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey
Intermittent cruise control

I am having a problem with the cruise control (or maybe just the buttons)
RRS s/c with adaptive cruise.
Cruise does not work, but sometimes after punching the crap out of various buttons I can get the cruise 'set' (+) to work. It will accelerate if I press the + button, and the resume button works, but '-', 'cancel cruise' and both of the cruise distance controls are innoperable. Nor can I adjust the forward alert distance if I have that turned on.

I have read on this forum about possible clock spring/wiring loom/silicone gel in ECU faults, but none of them seem to fit my problem, in that I can get it to partially work? Any ideas?

I have tried to remove the left hand switch panel to see if the contacts need cleaning, by removing the 2 screws at the back of the steering wheel, but I couldn't get it off. (didn't want to force anything or risk the airbag going off!) any guidance here will be much appreciated!

Also can someone tell me where the ECU with the silicone gel is located so I can check this?

Any other suggestions gratefully received! Otherwise a potentially costly 'diagnostic' at the stealer....

Thanks

Hi Mcgovern01, i had this problem on my first RRS (2.7 MY05); worked ok for weeks or sometimes only days and then would stop working for no reason. Apparently it was a well known problem and was fixed by my local dealer under warranty.

Sory i can't help with the techy stuff!
