Hi,

I have fitted one recently - at weekend - so can say how I installed mine.

It is fairly straight forward but you need to accept that you will have to run cables along the end of the glass tailgate as there is no access to the landrover wiring route as a bonded part.

Fitting camera is easy, just unscrew cover on tailgate handle - circa 6 torq headed screws - allows very easy access to light that you take out & replace with camera. - Its a tight fit to get camera in with the bulb holder

You then run cables from camera through a hole in plastic - I used the same place as the cables come through to power the number plate lights & tailgate handle.

Then need to run cables along edge of screen, through existing cable routes through body work - a real pain in the arse as you have to do it twicw once through the glass tailgate & then through the main tailgate.

By removing the rubber around the edge of the tailgate you can pull the cables out & take to bottom passenger side tailgate rear.

I used the reversing light to power camera - so only works on reverse then along with the actual camera singnal cable, I also ran a power from rear 12V+ aux & a cable from camera / reversing light to activate system when in reverse.

You have to very carefully lever off the trim that runs along side the rear passenger side to the b pillar to give a route to run the cable through.

Be sure to ensure you remove any metal clips especially on the threshold plates as they tend to stay in the bottom part & when you try to refix they just get pushed out & are a nightmare to then get out

Then simple connect the GVIF under the seat at the side of the sat nav & plug & play.

Just be aware it takes some time but is fairly easy plug & play the most difficult bit is removing trim & running cable routes.

Ian at hids is very helpful as is the disco 3 forum, which is where I got my first fitting experience as had a disco 3 & fitted one.

Might be someone on disco 3 forum local to you who has done the same thing who might be able to help Paul

Hi abeachsoul, I am going to buy the reversing camera set up, when you say fwd cam, have you fitted a 2nd camera to the front? I don't want to do mine and then have to go back and re route another cable etc later on. If so what camera and how have you mounted it.
