Nice Zilch!

Has this cost you a lot of money or are plates cheaper over there?

initially its 30 Australian to purchase them Very Happy it then costs 500 Aussie (200 of her majesties squids) per year as part of annual registration renewal. Evil or Very Mad so you basically rent them.

When i had my UK300 WRX Scoob in the UK, i paid a one off 250 pounds for *300WRX to the DVLA and that was it, things are slightly different down under

Cheers

its part of the annual registration fee, as i use mine for business (thats how it is registered for tax breaks) it is 551 AUD (220 pounds) per annum. So add another 500 for the plates, its now 1051. Good thing is, i most probably can claim some of it back against tax, depending on the % of business use.

Insurance here is quite good, i pay 1100 dollars per annum for fully comp, thats 480 pounds for a brand new RRS, less than our 3 year old Disco TD5 we had in the UK, which was worth substantially less.

Fuel is starting to take off in costs, not penny for penny with the UK, but when you compare cost of living, not far off at all. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
