United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

Ill add my name to the list of people with suspension faults.

MY11 TDV6, 8 months old 7k on the clock, never been off road (yet).

"only normal height available" & "forward alert not available".

The wife had noted that in the last few months there has been an intermittent droning sound coming from the left of the car. While driving through town it comes on for a few seconds then goes off for a few seconds, then back on again. Thinking about it, could this be the compressor trying to keep up with a leak in the system and therefor have led to premature wear?

Im going to contact the dealrs today and get them to have a look at it anyway.

I had hoped that after my last debacle with JLR and the pathetic XF I had, that I was unlucky and had just bought a lemon. Now Im wondering if thats all they can build Sad Confused RRS 3.0D HSE 11MY - Fuji White, a few extras.

Car now booked in for next Wednesday to have a new compressor and relay fitted. So it takes 2 weeks to get a compressor from JLR and then the dealership cant book the car in to even be seen for another week.

Is this seriously how long things take to get fixed under warranty with JLR? Three weeks with a faulty car? RRS 3.0D HSE 11MY - Fuji White, a few extras.

Katrina, mine is in the garage for the same 'lean when cornering' light orange. They have just phoned to say it won't be coming back yet as its a big job, they have to access the valve gear and test the appropriate part. I think they are setting me up for a big bill and would love to find out how you get on, or if anyone else knows anything about this fault. I have to say in general my first edition supercharged has been very reliable up to now with no real problems and this is the first light I have seen!!

Hi Justin

Mine was apparently a valve which was covered under the warrantly thankfully so don't know how much it would have cost had it not been. But I now have a droning sound think it's the air compressor which has an issue Grrrrrr husband wanted to get rid off the car but hopefully he will calm down ours has been nothing but trouble from day one but I did take the extended warranty out which has paid for itself three times over to date. x Katrina

Hi guys, think I'm beginning to have suspension problems. The dash all lights up, goes into safe mode and says suspension lowered etc. turn off and back on and all fine. Can go weeks with no problem or can go again 2 minutes later. There's times as well I've thought the passenger side rear has dropped all of a sudden then rights it self!!!! Is there anywhere near Liverpool you could recommend me taking it without getting ripped off as well. Thanks. Mike

Hi

When they brought the car back to the waiting area they informed me that the warning light might come on as the whole Steering rack had been replaced due to a faulty seal they felt they needed to changed the part in full.

There was no code that I saw but the light did come on minutes after I drove it. they said that all that was required was a reset by Landrover ?? After reading for a few hours on this very informative forum I'm now panicking that they are not telling me the truth and they also mentioned that the part they removed had not been a genuine part but reconditioned steering rack the car is an 07 plate with only 35,000 on the clock .

I'm not liking the sound of all this.

I have just bought my RRS 2.7tdv6 2007 last month it has 37.000 miles on the clock

Is this when all the problems start, I really hope not. I have only done 90 miles in it sice IV had it as I'm away working in Egypt so I'm hoping for trouble free motoring when I get home

Should you raise and lower the suspension on a regular basis to keep all the parts active or should you just leave them alone as I only plan on doing normal road use.

Thanks 2007 RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE in silver

Thanks

i was told to lower it overnight as it saves battery.
thats made things worse and now i need a new compressor too.
apparently regularly raising/lowering turns the compressor into an old man basically. 07 TDV8 + BAS map

Had this problem with a D3 and it turned out to be camber angle sensor. Reset and never any further problem.

I have a 2008 model that has done this twice and then I turn off and back on again and fault clears? “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”

For what it's worth, mine came up with the Amber Suspension Warning Light, which was intermittent on when it came on, i.e - 5 minutes into drive, 15 minutes, 40 minutes!! Suspension was slow to raise, sometimes didn't at all, sometimes raised and never went down - it basically did what it wanted to do!!

My 4x4 Specialist has diagnosed that a new compressor is required and my warranty company are covering the cost.

The compressors apparently have had lots of issues and are now obsolete, so a new type of compressor is being put on mine, to the tune of circa £500 + labour. Fingers crossed that should do the job
