Just exactly what are you asking for? "Chipping" the V8? Remember, it's not a Turbo... like the Diesels. No easy wins.

Only solution I have heard of for 4.4 liter naturally aspirated gas engines seems to be ECU shift points remapping (a company in Southern California I visited, Special Vehicle Concepts, http://specialvehicles.com offers such reprogramming, perhaps there are others doing it by now). I have a couple of problems with such an upgrade:

a) It does not increase HP, unlike chipping Supercharged and Turbodiesel engines. By SVC's own admission, unless this ECU upgrade is accompanied by replacement of the stock exhaust with their freer-flow / turbine model, real world performance gains are going to be minimal.

b) Our cars already have a built-in Sport mode that does something very similar... Although SVC claims their remapping is even more aggressive, I am not sure you'd see a dramatic performance benefit, and the ride quality would likely suffer. Not to mention potential warranty issues with Land Rover, should you blow the tranny for whatever reasons.

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Cairns Blue

We are working on this stuff right now.....Supercharged now and then normally aspirated 2 weeks later. We anticipate 40bhp for SC and 15-20bhp gains for normally aspirated models Wink Chips with everything
