Kevin, this is something I asked a while ago. With driving our RRS to Cyprus late summer (Did I mention.......OK, OK I'll get on with it...Jeez!..).

The current disc doesn't really go further East than Italy and dealer has drawn a blank.

Byron (Greece) says the disc doesn't exist (Yet) although I've heard mixed reports about further disc releases down the line.

I'm stumped for now. I need one for CY because depite what you may think, the island isn't that small!

Besides, the road names are all Greek to me.... Embarassed (Sorry!) Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Let's not forget there's a world of difference between copying the DVD and magically making it know all about speed cameras Wink If the current software doesn't support speed camera locations and internet-updating, it's game over. Without the car having any way to access the internet, you'll never be able to upgrade it in place anyway...

That said it would be interesting to know whether the manufacturer will sell a newer version to a consumer - they may only sell to OEMs.

Yes indeed SuperT, you did mention you were off to Cyprus - not a bad move at all if I may say so. I know even TomTom now have a map covering Serbia-Montenegro as do Garmin. I've just checked out the Tele Atlas website which has a link to its own shop www.navshop.com If you follow the thread for in-car systems and pick Land Rover it will indicate that for both the Range Rover (full size) and the Discovery 3, the system is VDO Dayton - but no east europe coverage. RRS TDV6 (gone)

When I had the LR system in my Freelander it was a Philips CaRIN with software from Navteq and the dealer upgraded from their latest cd whenever the car went in for a service, at no charge.

Now that I have the Indago system it too is a Navteq system and I download map and speedcamera updates every week, so it is possible with Navteq.
The update files live on my laptop....................................... ! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Am I right in thinking that Navteq only supply the map data? They don't actually provide the interface to it and the software that interprets the data do they?

The quick reply from navteq Evil or Very Mad

Dear Mr. Perry,

Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ.

At this moment, we do not have plans to insert the location of speed detection devices into our database. It also depends on the navigation system manufacturers whether this information will be made available on CD/DVD in the future.

Should you require additional information, please send us your feedback by replying to this email including your reference number. You may also contact us through our Customer Service Centre at the phone numbers provided below.

When responding, please refer to this email including your reference number.

With kind regards,
