Howdy again all,

Have just posted another new video of the Sunny Corner Trek. While not exactly the same route as the one found in the 'Treks around Sydney' guidebook, what you'll find on the trek is mostly what has been captured in the film.

This is a great mixed trek with mud, river crossings, hill climbs and some touring.



You can do it as a day trip out of Lithgow and return in the evening.

LOL - Yes, the seat covers have come in very handy - many thx.

Am shooting on a HD Sony handycam with a 250gb hard drive and inbuilt GPS tracker but only using native mac software iMovie for the edits. It's the quickest and easiest platform to do these kind of youtube vids.

The vids are all pretty rough mash ups but they'll do for this purpose. Normally we'd use Final Cut Pro for our advertising work but I can't be bothered mucking around with it when iMovie includes a seamless upload to youtube facility.

Have just posted a short video of a trip we did at Easter in the Chichester State Forest.

After much debate, I've decided to post the vid which unfortunately shows the RRS getting stuck on it's belly on a steep rutted hill climb.

Part driver technical error, partly just vehicle dynamics with the car being just the right width to fall into both the left and right ruts on each attempt.

The reason I struggled with whether to put it up or not was the fact that a D2, Triton and LandCruiser all trundled through that section relatively easily.

In the spirit of fairness though I thought I should show it.

If you want an idea of just how badly the Sport was stuck, watch the cruiser try and recover the Sport. The final recovery actually included the Triton pulling the Cruiser, pulling the sport off the deck.

My exhaust pipes are now approx half the width they should be

Great vid - thanks for posting - I can relate to bellying out - did it on a dirt road (not offroad) that had a bit of water over it - at normal offroad height ans as I went up into extended the body stayed where it was and the wheels just went down into the mud - had to come home and snatch it out with my old Freelander diesel.

The vid just highlights the strengths and weaknesses of various vehicles - what tyres did you have on - they did not look quite as aggressive as the other vehicles and the RRS was certainly sliding around on the mud a little more - the cruiser looks as if it is locked - landie drivers knock Toyotas (and vice versa) but the 80 series in TD form is a great offroad machine.

I had a set of smaller Cooper STT's on for the Chichester Trek Garry.

They were only 245/70/17's and I found them just a tad on the small side for that kind of work.

Have just switched to a set of Mickey Thompson 265/70/17's muddies and have uplaoded some footage last night of our first serious test run on them.

If anything, they work too well in some situations such as soft dirt tracks on steep climbs. They dug a hole half the depth of the wheel in just one rotation

Very impressed so far.

I guess clay clogs up anything Are you using them everyday or just on your dirty weekends?

Am only using them on weekends for those kind of treks (or supposedly so).
