SGRC 17th April

2nd meeting of the SGRC will take place on 17th April - meet up point is Killin car park for 1030-1100 depart. I'm not sure which route we will be doing as there are at least 3 quite long runs out into the hills on private shooting roads. No special tyres needed although if you are running bigger than 20" wheels you might get them dirty, just fuel, picnic, family/ friends and £10 for the day or £25 for lifetime club membership (plus £10 per event!). The routes are RRS friendly and on laid, hard surface tracks 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Great to have KeilTDV8 and his family join in today, I really hope you enjoyed the run out and will be along for some of the summer days out. And what a cracking day to be going off into the hills in your Landie or Rangie............... very pleasant up on the tops, no midges but still a chill in the air out of the sun and still snow on the higher mountains too

15 other Land Rover products were also out for the day

Nothing difficult, no need for low ratio unless you really wanted to play, hard packed gravel with the odd pothole and tarred sections below the hydro-electric dam. AND I got sunburned!

The next meet is May 1st, the destination will be posted on the SGRC website

No it won't, I'll make sure - I used to be a Freelander owner many years ago they are excellent offroad if you know how to drive them within their capablities. Anyway I still have my 90 to go serious places. There is nothing on any of the SGRC runs that would present a problem to an Evoque or a Freelander - most of today's roads you could have taken a family car over if you were careful and the quality of the surface on the trails was for the most part better than some of the metalled roads round here........ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I agree - we had a Freelander 2 before the RRS and if the Evoque has the same drive train etc you'll be just fine Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Evoque has about 5mm less ground clearance than a Freelander2 - add a set of MTRs and that will give it another 25mm or so height................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi all

This was a great inexpensive day out with a lot of like minded people (of all ages)

great scenery of an area normally inaccessible to Joe public

needless to say the Rangies were in a bit of a minority(of two)

You can see my TDV8 (just) behind Tim's FF .Tim had taken loads of photos but wasn't sure if I wanted my car shown on the site(wouldn't have been a problem at all) anyway if you've seen one black Sport you've seen 'em all.

One thing I will have to do is figure out to get Our photos off the camera and on to the site for future trips and the like.

cheers Kiel

Just for you Kiel............ excuse the finger in the way!

The only other "modern" landy there was Navigator's D3 (he's a regular over on Disco3) giving it's safari Snorkel it's first outing! The white Defender in front of him was running on vegetable oil!
