Would it not be better to drop the Land Rover descriptions and just call them

Black
White
Grey
Orange
etc I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

Scotland 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Atacama Sand

I think we are the only people in the UK with a RRS TDV8S in the fantastic colour that is Atacama Sand !
We bought it from a big national Land Rover dealership group at a bit over a year old.
We were trading in a new shape BMW X5, which was without question one of the most problematic and annoying cars we have had. Things like 3 sets of front wheel bearings in 30k miles, eletcrical problems, stuck with the dealer for a week because they got the handbrake on and then wiped the ECU, so could get it off again.
Strangely the Atacama Sand colour (according to the dealer) made the car 10% cheaper than the same in Black or Silver. We got a good trade in price for the X5 also, so a double bonus.
Given a choice, we would have gone for Atacama Sand had we been speccing a new car, so result all round.
As it is essentially my wifes' car, the decision was hers. I did mention that reliability was not always a key feature of the RRS, however she pointed out that it was unlikely to be any worse than the X5 !
As it turns out she was correct - it has had all the usual knocks from the suspension, and had the front diff replaced as it whined (a lot). It has now hit 50k miles and has never let us down, much to my amazement.
It has off white interior, black carpets and dark wood, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers and every option available other than DVD's.
Polished up on a sunny day it looks tremendous, and everybody who sees it comments on the fabulous colour - not one person has said it is horrid !
It has had a remap and goes very well.
My wife decided a few weeks ago that she needed more space for dogs, child, shopping etc. at the point I had just sold my own car.
She now has a RR Vogue TD6 and I have taken over the RRS, so we will see if I break it.
Having not had much of a service from the "big group" we bought it from, we now use the alternative Main Dealer in Edinburgh, and they have been absolutely great - made more surprising as rumour had it they were not interested unless they had supplied the car in the first place.
We will see how things progress, but currently we certainly have no complaints !

Scotland 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Atacama Sand

In the December snow a man parked a 7.5 t truck across the front bumper.
It is going in next week to have the bumper replaced, so once that is done I will get some pics.
The interior of any car my wife has looks like it has been mistaken for a skip, so that is being remedied this weekend also.
Usual story - I get the TD6 - lovely car but been neglected in the last year, so into the workshop, for discs, pads, balljoints, rear bushes etc etc. Then a new MoT and an entire day at the valeter.
So looking lovely and driving perfectly she took it yesterday.
I was left at the office with the RRS - interior like a skip, mangled front bumper, not been washed since Christmas and enough fuel for 16 miles, so I will now start it all over again !
It is in my mind to get the painter to colour match the black plastics front and rear while it is in, but I can't decide if that will look great or tacky.

Scotland 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Atacama Sand

As requested, I was going to send photos of probably the only Atacama Sand TDV8S in existence.
Unfortunately I lost the will to live whilst trying to work out how to attach photos.
Then I read that they could not come direct from my PC.
So I gave up.
it does look great !
If anybody can tell me a simple way to sort out how to display photos I will give it a go.

Why is Black such a popular colour ?....................I have a Black Disco and would never have another one that colour I have to drive mine off road every day as I live in the country and daily drive 5 kms off road and Black is the worst colour for looking filthy always.

I have had a White FFRR in the past and various greens but White always appears to looks clean even when dirty until you wash it.
