Are you using 19" Goodyear Wranger F1's

Hi all,

If there is anyone traveling to the NSW Snowy Mountains this year and travelling on Goodyear Wrangler F1's in 255/50/19, I have an unused tyre going free to a good home. You just need to pick it up on the way through.

I have just changed over to the Pirelli ATR's in 255/55/19 and the tyre dealer decided that he was going to be rude and sting me for five tyres instead of four and also take the unused spare off my car and flog it off to someone else, without giving me any sort of credit for the tyre.

So, my feeling is that a fellow RRS owner should benefit rather than some shifty tyre dealer.

First in - first served. Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

Well i have a 255/55/18 F1 from the old vehicle hanging around, maybe we could give them away as a job lot of odd tyres WD... LR in their wisdom provided this as a spare whilst it was shod with Wrangler HP's and they refused to change it Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

I think you'd have to pay someone to actually take a set of Goodyear F1 Wranglers. They came fitted to mine when I bought it and I changed them as I thought they were the worst tyres I've ever had on a car. No grip in the dry, even less in the wet.

It's a kind gesture to offer them to a RRS owner, but I'm not sure they'll thankyou for it. Hmmm........ interesting on how they work on, I am guessing different types of Bitumen.

I was really happy with the Wranglers, and only changed to the Pirelli ATR's because of the amount of paddock bashing we do in the snow. I didn't tend to hold back on the bitumen with them either (wet or dry) and found on quite a few of my favorite bits of road that the TDV8 with them on was quicker on the black stuff than the E36 M3 I used to have. And they were still giving me 40,000km's even with the hammering I was giving them. Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

Hey there Zilch,

We missed you in the weekend.

We could build up an interesting job lot of tyres Laughing

It is amazing what you can accumulate and stack in the back of the shed for a variety of reasons!! Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

I replaced the F1's with Yokohama Advan ST V802 and they grip like chewing gum. Make the F1's feel like they were made of wood.

http://www.yokohama.com.au/ourtyres/tyre.aspx?tyreid=70

They were a straight replacement for the standard 255/50/19. Perhaps it's the power of the TDV8 that the F1's can't handle!! My F1s have been pretty good and have not had grip problems..I run them at the recommended pressures. On my second set now. 640Newton, maybe you have the Aussie disease of over inflating them.. Seems to be a big thing here. Never came across this when I was living in the UK. Just had a discussion on Aulro re this.

I also have an F1 available. (255 x 55 x R18) Been a spare since new so has not been on the road. Will be available in April when I'll be fitting Pirelli ATR's.

If anyone wants it, let me know, but you'll have to pick it up I am afraid.

Well after me giving the F1s a good wrap I've just noticed a bulge on one of them that has only done 20000k. Went back to Beaurepairs and he checked if there were any in stock only to tell me that there were none in the country. To cap it all my spare ain't great!
Did I read that one of you guys had one or was it an 18 incher? SDV8 arrived and fantastic even the infotainment!

Whistle not wanting to brag but yes it is an 18 incher... no charge for transplanting, just got to arrange transport, it has done about 500 kilometres as a spare and nothing else... PM me with details and i can send you a pick up address Thumbs Up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
