I do not know the law in UK, do not drive there, I know they will give me hard time here, and even if I was ok I'd still have to waste time discussing the issue with them. Knowing as some of them work they then might start looking for other problem just to "win" Wink '08 RRS TDV8

Regardless of tyre, i always go for the max load pressure recommendation. Slightly hard ride, much better handling and wear. TDV6, MYO7 Java with Ivory leather, 19 inch wheels

A minimum of 1.6mm in a continuous band throughout the central three-quarters of the tread width, throughout the whole of the circumference (see illustration below).

I tow a caravan and inflate for 4 passengers and luggage when towing then decrease to lower pressure on door when I unhitch after tyres cool down - min 3 hours. I keep a small compressor in boot with a tyre gauge Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

This is a section of a technical bulletin that i recieved after compaining the outer edges were wearing uneven. Quote A customer may report uneven tyre wear on vehicles fitted with 20" wheels and Continental sport contact tyres.
Cause: Due to the tread pattern design of this tyre, there can appear to be inner or outer shoulder wear. This is in fact just the natural tread wear, but as the design of the lateral grooves continues around the sidewall, the very ends of the grooves do not wear giving rise to a "band" of wear at the edge of the contact patch.

Action: No action is required for this issue as it is deemed a characteristic of the tyre and not a fault.

Make of this what you will they still look bloody worn to me!! Big Cry

Unless this part of the tyre is designed to wear quicker than the rest then the tyre is illegal when the base of the groove of any of the original tread pattern is not clearly visible. Reg 27 construction and use regs. Unless this has hanged of course. RRS for on road
