United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

mine was in for the brake recall last week and I complained again about the knock. Mine only knocked (yes past tense) on an uneven road or when going over bumps when in a turn. Going over bumps or speed humps straight on produced no noise. I now have no knock on uneven roads. I do still get a slight knock if I rock the steering left and right at low speed - but this is much reduced. Seems the dealer has replaced the bottom ball joints and trailing arms with the new modified versions. It is now pretty much OK. Result. If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

Java Black HSE TDV6 O7, alpaca, FF sunroof, adaptive Xenon headlights, SC grill, black privacy glass, clear indicators, tow-pack, colour-coded all black.Gone, but forever in my memory. Until my new one comes...

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Hi all

Just refreshing this post.

My 2005 30k mile S/C has a slight knocking sound when driving straight and over uneven roads so it sound like the problem described here.

I'm new to the RRS, is this fault possible on the S/C and is the fix a recall or will i have to pay full £££ as i don't have LR warranty ?. If payable how much should it cost me ?.

Thanks

Carl

I have a MY10 RRS and appear to have a knocking noise coming from the front right suspension when driving on an uneven road. Anyone else had this problem on a MY10?

Yes i have, if its an early one (pre Feb/March ish) it wont have mass dampers fitted, lookers put mass dampers on mine and it stopped the knocking......................but i do seem to be getting another knock on the front much like last time Confused It will be due its first service soon so will get it checked. MY10 3.0 HSE Santorini Black, Ivory Premium & extended leather, privacy, paddles, diamond turned alloys, Ipod lead that charges, tasmods, rrsport.co.uk stickers

Have the knocking on mine had it into two seperate main dealers and they both say its the hydraulic dampening or something to that effect so is it just me?? I don't think it should make this noise but I've got nothing to compare it to and the technicians say its normal. Had the knocking on my MY10 fixed this morning. Land Rover had to replace the bushes on the anti-roll bar apparantly. So far so good.

Mine seems to be developing this damn knock, although it only became really noticeable when we had the recent sub zero temperatures, since then I haven't noticed it... I imagine it is something that will eventually get more and more noticeable though, Censored .

....once it gets under your skin, your dddooooooommmmmeeeeedddddd.

Notwithstanding what some have said here, I never got a complete fix and mine was the most pampered LR car on here, they had effectively replaced the entire suspension setup including the Delphi (air) struts. Thousands on warranty and still it knocked like an old Lada.

Good luck anyway Wink L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

Interesting you should mention the colder weather. Mine was fine all summer but has returned.
Interesting but annoying.

Knock - knock

Car in yesterday to have the 'knocking' removed.
Diagnosis was stabiliser bar bushes.
Replaced with latest standard bushes they tell me and - all is well.
Never known it this quiet since new.

My 2008m V8 Diesel got it's 40k service yesterday with Donnelly Bros.

The only fault it had, was the infamous suspension knock which had developed over the last month or so.

The vehicle was returned to me this morning serviced, with all bushings front and rear replaced.

After speaking to Land Rover about the poblem, the bushing were replaced free of charge .

They also gave me a new 3.0 ltr HSE for the day.

Now, that's what I call a good dealer. Very Happy

THERE IS NO FIX !!!!! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

........it just depends on the severity of the initial problem, it may quieten down to unnoticeable levels for a while or like mine, return within a few thousand miles and be as bad as ever. Partly the reason she went, an absolute joke that still raises its head on the latest vehicles. Ridiculous! L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
