I am wondering whether anybody has experience , what can only be described as a knocking sound against the interior of the rear bumper when accelerating or going over bumps .

I have been advised this could possibly be the pendulum weight on the rear of the car located close to the bumper making contact with the bumper

Has any body come across a similar problem before , if so what was the solution

forget about pendulum weight its not them
highly recommended to check anti roll bar bushes
common fault

I had exactly the same problem. Unfortunately I cannot remember what it was that was loose but it was a day at the dealer and rear bumper off to fix. Current: 2003 Audi S4 - 340BHP of Fun

The heat shield between the exhaust and spare wheel might be loose. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
