UK Safety Recall (Programme Number P017) Brake Vacuum Assist

Just received notice of a safety recall.

Subject: Brake Vacuum Assistance System
Models: 2006-2009 RRS & D3

Issue one:- Vehicles produced between November 2005 and April 2007 (LA367110-LA440000 and LS929086 - LS 117000) Oil may migrate from the engine driven vacuum pump and collect in the brake booster. This may cause a progressive loss of brake assistance etc etc.

Issue two:- Temporary sticking of the vacuum non-return valve in the brake assistance vacuum pump. This may lead to temp. loss of vacuum ass. on the braking system. This may result in increased pedal efforts after the first 3 or 4 applications of the brake pedal after initial engine start up. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

When my TDV8 was in for it's 2nd service I asked about the recall, the service manager said it applied to TDV6 vehicles only. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Any mention of the car registration number on the letter VA? DVLA are not that well known for being speedy at keeping their records up-tp-date but I would expect that after a year of owning your V8 they would have updated their records for the V6...... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

When did James take it off your hands? I was getting Congestion Charge notices for my last car several months after James sold it on 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Just had this corrected by Guava who had been working with me on a compressor issue (replacement under Warrantywise) and I must say what a great job they have done in particular James the service manager. Still a list of other bits and pieces but for now it feels like a differant car due to the software upgrade and better brakes!. It used to be sluggesh pulling away from a standstill at times but no more. The wife hated the car because of this but now the worm slowly turns....... Thumbs Up Lloyd

Re-call

Hi all,

Looks like ours falls within the VIN Range Sad

As we have only just brought the car the Re-Call notice will probably go to the previous owner.

I will be ringing Marshalls Cambridge later to find out if it is on the list.

Suppose I will not be taking the Censored out of Toybota about Re-Calls anymore !!!

Re call

Hi again,

After speaking to Marshalls Bedford, it seems ours is not on the Recall list Very Happy

FYI, ours is a May 08 HSE 2.7 TDV6, if that is any help.
