That's not good mate, usually taking it for a blast is enough to allow the system to clear itself. Not good to think that LRA is also being tested to the limit at this time of year as well..................... There is only one LRA man that covers the whole of Central Scotland so I bet his Christmas has been a bit busy! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Nara Bronze

Hi Maw

Couldn't agree more

Worse thing was they also put a new differential on my 2500 mile/ 9 month old TDV8 !

Even I could have told them it wasn't that

Must have had a quiet day in the workshop !

They are really in denial about the knocking 'characteristic'

cheers

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Alaska White

Good morning all.

I have recently took delivery of a new RR sport. (two weeks 1 day ago)

In the past two weeks i have managed to collect the following errors.

1. Rear off side passenger door does not unlock with other doors.
2. The soft close tailgate does not soft close giving me the beeping sound over and over when trying to lock the doors.
3. I have a "gearbox fault" almost daily on the vehicle.
4. in the mornings i have a battery low warning.
5. I had lost power steering totally whilst travelling down a dual carriage way only for it to re-appear after switching the car off like i would my pc.

i have been back to our local dealer who was unable to fix any of the above although he did say i should "trickle charge" my battery at night. i have gone for rear dvds and sound upgrade etc but this was factory fitted, should the battery supplied not be capable of running this ?

i can not believe this is right, i am not new to buying new cars and i am happy to say i have never had so much trouble with any bmw.

is this normal for range rovers ?

Any help would be appreciated !

Thanks

AA, which dealership are you using - there are still a lot out there who only want to sell a car and are totally useless at helping you or don't even want to know when you have a problem - take a look at the Dealership Feedback section, see if your dealer gets a mention in it and also have a look to see if you have an alternative not to far away 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks

I have looked and the feedback looks ok for the dealer in all fairness, maybe i was unlucky.

Does anyone know if the battery thing is right or has anyone had anything simular with the power steering ? I am worried as my wife and two children are the main users for this car.

AA, do try trickle charging the battery. I've read about this on the Discovery 4 forum and it can resolve the battery issues. You only need to do it the once. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

MY10....gearbox warning on dash!

I have had the same on my 2010 3.0 TDV6 several times and a couple of days ago the battery went flat as well,on jump starting the car the same gearbox fault appeared again (plus a few others)but this time the car had to be recovered by Land Rover assistance after several attempts to re boot the ECU etc. Big Cry
The dealer told me one of the faults is the LCD screen that stays on for too long once the car has been turned off,the new software release (last week) shuts the screen off after a few minutes
Had the car back for a few days now and no problems so far........

I guess get the latest software ASAP Thumbs Up

Gearbox Italy

As you can think in Italy the situation is worse.... one week new RR Sport 2010 hse and
GearBox alert every 5 minute. Calling the dealers the only replay is I dont know is too new .........
Tomorrow I bring back for a full reset of software.... Hoping they install a patch not from Microsoft Laughing

An italian experience.. A proud owner of a RR Sport 2010

United Kingdom

It would appear that the "gear box" fault extends to the D4 3.0, Ive had my new D4 from mid September and had NO faults until the cold snap!!! Had to wait four days for a LRA man who confirmed my worst fears, he had visited 20 new D4's and 14 new RRS in 7 days ALL with the same gear box faults Evil or Very Mad After a full system reset all ok until the snow returned today and back it came, my guess is water ingress into a connector!
I loved my old Sport why oh why did I sell it Big Cry D4 3.0 HSE with all the toys.
