It covers the VIN numbers shown. I doubt they were all sold in Australia. Must be serious for the Australian Feds to get involved.

That was the exact problem i had prior to the Jindabyne trip Ivery, i actually swapped a few emails with James at CHPR to see if he had heard of it, at the time it was not a common problem, but LR Australia were starting to pull it up. Vehicle went in for new pads and rotors prior to the off road meet and came out with new vacuum pump, booster, seals etc just in time

Seems a few postings on the D3 site now as well..

Martin should this be moved up into one of the sticky postings in technical ? Another Pommie Bar Steward down under

Thanks Ivery! I've just emailed the dealer, if appropriate they may as well do my car when it's in on Friday!

This makes me hopping mad. Hadn't seen this post before. This is EXACTLY what happened to me in my MY09 RRS TDV6 HSE at the tail end of last year. Except it wasn't progressive. "Sudden" more like. Nearly killed me.

How can the factory have a known problem in 2007 and still send them out the door the same way in 2008/9? I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

Hmmm

Interesting. I was backing out of my driveway which has a steep slope just a few days ago and mine went hard (brake pedal) causing me to nearly exit my driveway in an uncontrolled manner. I lifted my foot off momentarily and re applied pedal and the boost seemed to return.....

You guys reckon its the same thing?? Confused

Thanks Mercury, you have described my fault exactly

It will be a call to the stealer first thing tomorrow for me (between plane rides as I make my way home fom Jakarta to Melbourne)

I wonder what the back order is for new pumps for Australia.....

Called the stealer this morning and its booked in next week. He couldn't believe that I knew about the recall when he didn't think it was "out there" yet and asked me how I knew.....I haven't let on yet... Rolling with laughter

The power of the forum!

What I do not understand is that the recall is for all the world except Switzerland '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

Spoke to my local dealer that spotted the problem back in January and basically changed the vacuum booster, seals etc then, they will check it out on Monday and make the necessary mods when its in for its quarterly "lets find the radio problem" .. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
