2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Renewal of Land Rover Insurance Policy

Just had the annual reminder in for the cover on my Defender. Like my Sport my 90 is also insured with Land Rover Insurance and the premium for the next 12 months is £329 Shocked and there is an additional requirement to ensure that the 90 has a working alarm and immobiliser which is a problem as it never had them when it left the factory.

Phoned LRI and asked to discuss the situation as they have insured the car for the last 7 years with no problems, also asked about the effect the modifications I have done to it would have on the premium and expected much sucking of teeth and gnashing of gums and a refusal to cover me Big Cry

The mods do not enhance the performance - it has had a new chassis, a winch fitted and was converted from a van to a stationwagon - so no problems there and I didn't need to advise them either but now they know and have the details noted on the policy. They then updated my personal details and found that under the section for employment I was down as "Transport Industry - Travel" and they now have more categories and one that covers my job so I was re-categorised.................................... instead of the expected hike in premium the lady at the other end was really very pleased to tell me that the premium had instead reduced from £329pa to £171!

Happy? You bet! Mr. Green Let's see what they can do for the RRS when that becomes due. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
