United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Problem From Day One

Picked up my brand new rrs on friday from local dealer. Got a few freebies like full tank, rubber mats, rubber rear bootliner and supercharged side vents.

It was only when i got home i realised the near side rear door had been repaired and painted. I was on the phone to them straight away and wasn't happy.

Been given few options,
1) Repair car and get a few extras and service for free
2) Get a full refund
3) Replace current one with another brand new one and drive mine till new one arrives.

If i keep it, i can get them to throw in a set of supercharged alloys but they said it might make the ride uncomfortable and might get a rocking of the car when idleing. I dont think by going 1" bigger this would happen but has anyone added a set after and had any problems?

If i change it for new one i'm gonna get the dynamic pack at an extra cost.

Not a good start

Bad luck, Hiten! Crying or Very sad

I don't think it's a major enough problem to warrant the refund option. Personally, I think that would be a bit of an over-reaction. It seems your dealer is quite fair (he's already thrown a good bit into the deal, more than a lot of us longer-term owners got) and from what you say he seems willing to keep you happy over this issue. If it was me, I'd have them fix the problem and take the SC wheels.

I don't think what he says about having the wheels is strictly true. Assuming you have a TDV6, you might not have the damped steering rack that is installed in the SC. Supposedly, you should have this if you are going to run the 20s. And even if you don't, there are some folks who haven't reported any problems..... just keep an eye open for problems with the vehicle pulling to one side when it shouldn't or other problems that are clearly to do with the tracking.

Hope that helps... and good luck with it all. Keep us posted on what happens! Very Happy Thumbs Up

Hiten - get the wheels but make sure you keep the current ones especially if you intend to take the RRS off road. Would like to know your dealer. Let's hope it's not a case of Once Hiten Twice Shy! Embarassed 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Thanks for your views guys.

It was bought from Stratstone in Woodford.

I think i might just end up getting another new one as they said they might be able to get one made earlier for me due to the problem being caused from factory.

I could have it fixed but the door shut also needs to be repaired and painted which might cause the inside of my car the get dirty and i might loose the new car scent to be left with a bodyshop scent. I paid to buy a new untouched car and this one is like a second hand one.
