RRS V8 gasoline -> import fom US to Germany

Hi,

my wife is constantly asking for a Range Rover Sport. Now i gave up and promissed here one. The V8 gasoline without Supercharger.
I tend to buy it in the US, as it nearly half the price as in Germany. I think of a 2007 modell.
I have done so already with my Jag XKR - super, no problems at all !

Does anyone know about challenges i should expect when importing such a vehicle.

Thank a lot upfront

Java Black

Beware when importing from the US as the Satnav systems seem to be incompatible. So an RRS bought in the US apparently won't work in Europe.

Obviously I've not seen the fact that it doesn't work myself, but it was discussed on here recently and I understand it was confirmed by LR customer service. If you want definite confirmation, I suggest you ask LR to confirm yourself Thumbs Up

Presume that means that PAG didn't use the same supplier across the board.

Another reason why they were leaking money and ultimately disbanded Confused Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Even more reason for the diesel!! Smile

With German autobahns you will hate yourself for buying something without at least one turbocharger/supercharger. I speak from experience Smile

I use my XKR every day. Its Supercharger is nice, but honestly not necessary. This week i get the RRS Diesel. Then i can compare. But the Satnav problem is a challenge. Maybe i buy the Babe here ...

Re the Satnav System - here the original statement of Landrover Germany: " Just change the DVD and the system will operate in Germany as well as in the US" ...

Hmmm ...

Poland 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Rimini Red

I have recently imported a rrs s/c from US. I have the car for 2 months now and I am very happy with it. There are some small differences between the european and us specs, but they mostly related to mutlimedia. The dvd changer has US region and I have problems changing it to european region, but I have a guy wirking on it now.
With the navigation I asked at local LR dealer and they said the european dvds will not work in my car. So I haven't checked with the original discs but I found another guy who made a disc on his own which works without any problems. The maps coverage is quite poor in Poland and I am actually thinking of getting the original nav dvd, but I am not sure if it will work or not. Has anyone checked it yet?

no major other differences found on the EU and US specs My name: Patryk
