Had a chat with a chap at Gaydon. He said all we need to do is send him a email and he'll see what he can do for us but it should be ok?

What do we want to do there?

We just stopping there for an hour or so then of to the next? Or do we want to have a look around as well? I want not to long ago so having a look around isn't any interest to me.

But will go with the flow!

Jay, In addition I've spoken to LR who are looking to do something for us, however I have no idea at this stage what it could be. Could be anything from refreshment to a coach ride round the Gaydon development facility..... If you arrange things with your guy then PM me his details I will pass them to LR who can liaise with him? Thumbs Up

Have just found this thread as my stupid computer logged me in and then promptly logged me out again so all threads were marked as read. Can we get to drive our cars around the racetrack/ runway or for us to take our cars around the BMHC offroad course.

Oh and Feb 28 looks OK for me - fuel prices and snow levels permitting travel at that time of the year. It's a while since I have been into the museum, usually I stop at the BHMC on my way south and north in preference to Warwick Services (and I would sooner give the BHMC my money than Roadchef, the food at the BHMC cafe is miles better and a lot less expensive!) and the Esso filling station at Gaydon is also 3-4p cheaper per litre than at the services up the motorway too. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

UPDATE - FEBRUARY 28th 2009

I had a meeting with Land Rover this morning to discuss possibilities for the 'Meet' in February. As the museum is not run by Land Rover there are a few things that they cannot assist with. I explained that the plan would be to have a north and south meeting point and then converge on Gaydon at lunchtime for a couple of hours or so. The plan would then be to go off en-mass to another destination that Kam is looking after somewhere near Coventry. I told them that this would probably involve all 5 of the forums, however it is being organised predominantly by RRS members.

So far they have confirmed a VIP parking area when we can get all the cars lined up by model for a big photo-shoot. They had suggested off roading (at our dealerships cost Rolling Eyes ), however it is unlikely that they could provide enough manpower to take everyone round in the short time that we will be there. I also figured that most forum members will have probably had an off-road experience of some sorts and that we should look towards funding something else. It looks like there will be another G4 RRS available for us to display for those that missed it at the London Meet.

We as a dealership will obviously do something similar to that of the London Meet, with a goodie bag and another prize draw. Entry to the museum will be £7.

So, this is work in progress, and I will report back as and when I have more information. If anyone has any suggestions then please let me know.

Great news James. Thumbs Up

I wonder if this means that Land Rover are finally beginning to recognise the enthusiasm of forum members like us instead of treating us like a bunch of anorak wearing morons. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. They most certainly recognise the enthusiasm of the forum members, and I have been championing the fact that this is a great opportunity for the manufacturer to become involved with true enthisiasts. Wink

As for anorck wearing morons.... well I guess we'll have to get Trinny and Suzanah involved for that! Laughing
