Simple mobile phones

OK folks, I'm looking for a very simple phone that has largish keys, no camera, no fancy techie things but it must have bluetooth. This is for my dad who has arthritic fingers and if something is complex he will fiddle and then get stuck and call for help because he has either wiped out a function or pressed the keylock......................... old age is catching up rapidly with him unfortunately. So if anybody knows of a mobile phone that can link up to the RRS handsfree and meets the above low tech spec can you let me know please. Is it possible to buy reconditioned Nokias because something like the 6310 that I used to have and put in a recycling bin would be ideal. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

They are worth quite a bit too S, just googled reconditioned mobile phones and come up with this
http://www.usedphonesuk.com/nokia_6310i.shtml
£74 quid is pretty good for an old phone!
I konw they are one of the most popular phones ever made and one of the best "oldies" but never thought they would hold their price so well!
Much appreciated, if you still have it I'll take it off you. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

I think they remain very popular as they were just a no-nonsense phone for making and receiving calls on... you are welcome to it mate, if I still have it. I'll check when I get home Thumbs Up

I had very similar requirements for a phone for my dad too.

I can’t be 100% sure, but looking at the Nokia website, I think what I got him was the Nokia 3110 Classic

I’ll check for sure later tonight.

But I know it’s quite a simple phone, no frills with good large numbers on the keypad.

Another good thing was that I was able to disable the center nay key functions, so as to eliminate any fumbling fingers pressing the wrong key & getting into a menu.

As I say I’ll confirm the exact model later this evening.

Thanks for that Rupert, I'll have a look on the www to see A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Just be wary that some of the 6310i's out there are Chinese copies.....I know, I had one and it was shocking Shocked The tell-tale sign is the keyboard and where the battery sits......the sign states made by Nokia and NOT the proper Made in Finland.

For no nonense latest Nokia, try the 2630........great phone for little money, currently RRP's for £40. Thumbs Up My Gladiators:

Tim

I had exactly the same problem last year when I needed to replace a worn out Nokia and wanted something simple with big keys. I was given a Nokia 02 Jet which is the simplest phone with btooth and large keys. No MP3, no camera and a very long life battery (540 hours of standby - yes that really is over 3 weeks and it works as well !).

Not sure you can still get them as I believe they were so basic looking that no one wanted one despite the fact they were cheap as chips. I think they were unique to 02 as well. Found the following URL showing details.

http://www.mobiletopsoft.com/devices/spec-o2-jet.html

I still use the phone as a spare on a pay as you go basis and is always in my rucksac for hill walking / mountain biking / knocking about when I don't want to take the blackberry with me. RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini
