Speed camera flash

A silly one really but interested to see what people think. Was driving to work this morning, usual route, and I pass two speed cameras. The first one I was at the 50mph speed limit because I checked but I just sailed past the second without thinking. I don't think I was over the limit but thought if it did go off I would have seen the flash in my mirror or reflect inside the car. Its a gatso and I know they flash twice. Anyone got a view if you think you would notice a flash from a camera if you set it off driving past it? What's the verdict? New RRS

Verdict= Wait to see if "the envelope" drops through the letterbox with in 14 days

Depends if your looking in the mirrors, during the day they are less visable, but if it was dark or overcast more change of the double flash been seen Thumbs Up

Sometimes you spot it other times you don't... but then don't forget that not all cameras are active all of the time. You might as well go about your business in the meantime Ronnie and if the NIP doesn't arrive then you can relax Wink

I would be surprised if it did flash as I am sure with the overcast m orning I would have seen it in my mirror or it would have caught my attention. Guess I will just have to wait and see New RRS

Got flashed on Sunday as I was slowing down from 90km/h for a 70km/ limit then coming down to 50km/h for the start of the town only to see a double flash in my mirror, just got the envelope in through the door, €50 for doing 82km/h in a 70 zone
I'm going back to check the lay out of the road as where I was it was still un-restricted ie 90km/h and I was flashed before I reached the 70km/h sign, Grrrr, Oh I was on the bike and not the car, we were just taking it easy and not thrashing it. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

No thank goodness! but you can lose your licence for doing 140 in a 70. There is talk of them linking the databases so that if you do get caught in Europe then you get the points applied back in the UK.
Got flashed once before, about a year ago on the motorway doing 160 in a 120 Whistle on the same bike too Yam FJR1300 Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Josh - do you mean retrospective in that every past speeding offence in an EU country has been stored and will be acted upon when this new system goes live? Shocked

Sorry not worded very well Bow down

Which ever country you speed in within the EU the points/fine will be applied to your licence. So for example ..Belguims who like to thrash it on UK roads without penalty will get it applied to their foreign licence at a later date.

Where as at the moment they have to be physically stopped, nicked and put before the next available Court. So if its a camera they have got away with it......but not for much longer....but it works both ways I'm afraid.

Another EU law. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone
