There was one bulletin issued last year which explains the premature wear of the brake shoes...

and this also covers the Discovery 3/ LR3 Malaysia Boleh!

Guys, thanks for your help and assistance with this.
All valid points and the LR bulletin was exactly what we needed.

However the Service manager has today basically said: Bugger off, its wear and tear, and if you want to take it any further: Speak to LR Customer Services.

Which we are doing right now. The cheque was stopped by the way as well.. charged him, but we all agreed its worth it. The way the service manager came across was, we've got your money now, so just go away.
Which is why this is being progressed to LR CS.

Lets see what happens. Past: Bmw M3 Coupe 57, 335d Coupe 56, Audi RS4 06, RR Sport TD HSE 05,
Current: 57 Bmw 730d Sport, 56 Merc S320 CDI L, 57 Merc Viano L 2.2CDI

Well done Kam. Sometimes I think we should not keep hitting out at LR themselves, most of the time it comes down the the bloody dealership and their attitude. Every time I have had a problem it has been the dealer when you finally get in touch with LR themselves things seem to happen and get sorted.

So LR your great but some of your dealers need a kick up the arse Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up I want a G55 AMG !! or do I?? will I be waiting for??

Kam, (apologies if I am repeating on any other posts in the thread)

The amount for the bill sounds about the right amount for that amount of work, based on what my dealer quoted me for doing the same to mine (discs and pads) but when I said no, they backed down to £350 from £535. An easy saving there. (We British should say NO more often I believe Cool )

With regards to warranty work etc, I have made the BEST use of all my car warranties over the past few years, no matter how old the car. Most owners will NOT argue the toss, the minority will, and therefore be appeased. I bought a 3rd hand BMW M5 from a BMW dealer with 55k on it, and the clutch went at about 62K, I got it done on warranty despite it being a non warranty item. I also got 2 sets of brake discs replaced. You have to stand firm with them, be polite but firm, and never lose your cool. You have to show you are an intelligent person rather than an argumentative w@nker.

When I had my RRS SC and the alloys were ruined by going mildly off road, I tried talking to LR, they said "No way, get lost". So, I wrote a letter to EVO magazine. Suddenly LR replaced all my wheels! (Did you know LR have people/systems to scour the world's press for ANY publicity on Landrover, so any bad press quickly reaches them!)

Here's something you guys might not know about the car industry that I found out from my wife (She's working on an IT project for a large motor dealer network) This might be the case for LR too.

The indivual dealers rarely lose out on any work they carry out
e.g If LR agrees to pay for something on warranty, the dealer 'wins' (cos they get paid for it)
If the dealer says to you "No way, pay up, it's wear and tear" they 'win', (cos you have paid)
If you refuse to pay and LR won't pay on warranty the dealer can still win cos they have insurance policies covering them for such eventualities.

Cunning hey? Now: Range Rover Vogue TD6, JE Stage 1. (Green!)

*Gone: Range Rover Sport Supercharged 4.2V8 (Silver)
