United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Thats just Censored nk fella.

I must admit I always take my keys upstairs - have done so for years. In terms of these cats coming up and into your bedroom to wrestle the keys off you - im not so sure they'd risk that tbh. Some hardcore nutters might (and if they want to take a chance with 15st of my pet mastif* who's 'bedroom' is just next to mine - then they deserve the keys! Cool

*No trottster, its not my missus before you start Thumbs Up

my offices were broken into 3 years ago and that experience told me something about my character - before that happened I would always say keep out of the way and let them take what they want as its not worth getting assaulted (or worse) over things that are insured - HOWEVER, the night our offices got done the alarm called my phone and I could actually hear the tw*ts voices so I immediately ran to the car and drove over (on the way calling the police) - when I got there I entered straight away looking for them - I was enraged.

In reflection I now hate the way they made me feel as I wanted to find them and beat the sh*t out of them - it made me ignore the reality that it would have probably ended up the other way round as I would have faced by all accounts, 3 people in the office.

Its very easy to say leave your keys downstairs and let them take your car, however in the heat of the moment I dont believe for a second I could do that - I know I should, however I also know it feels

I inturrupted two guys breaking into my house within a week of the RRS being launched. The police were adamant that I had been followed home with a view to the thiefs visiting in the early hours. Fortunately I set the house alarm off and switched all the floodlights on which startled them and they made good their escape. I know we all have our opinions, and mine are as follows:

1. Leave your keys downstairs, but not close enough to the letterbox to attract an opportunist with a bamboo caine and a hook.
2. If you can put up any visual deterrants then do so, such as 'beware of the dog signs' and CCTV cameras.
3. Keep an eye on who is behind you for the last few miles of your journey home (regardless of the time of day) and if someone has followed you for a time then go the long way before heading home to see what they do.
4. Get a tracking device as it will make you think twice about tackling these individuals due to the increased chance of them being caught and the vehicle recovered.

It makes sense to protect yourself from this sort of thing, however it is not as common as perhaps the media lead us to believe. As most of you know we are a big RRS dealer and in the last 12 months this is only the 2nd instance of this happening to a LR product that I have been told about.

...but just don't select Trackstar.......absolutely Censored useless. Have tried them 4 times to find out where my car is and each time they say "they don't know, the unit has gone into sleep mode"....this allegedly happens after 4 hrs from when you switch the engine off or become stationary...........what a load of old horse s*it............I have tried at 30 min, 2 hr, 3hr and 4hr intervals and each and every time they spin the same old crap...........for the considerable amount of money we pay these muppets, I would see more protection in one of those £0.59p Halfords flashing LED's for the chavs that cannot afford proper security. My Gladiators:

No 3. i always do!
Good tips mate.. glad you scared the burglars off before they managed to find the keys.
I was always worried the RS4 and the M3, but fortunately nothing ever happened, they never used to be on the drive so noone would have ever known it was in the garage, plus it was always blocked in by another car.. flood lighting all round the house, CCTV on the garage side, plus it looks like there are a lot of people living in the house due to the cars on the drive usually..

Then after me doing all this.. we get new neighbours moving in, and that guy plonks a red M6 on the drive, and doesn't really give two hoots about it and leaves it hanging off the drive a lot of the time.. so at least thats a bigger and easier target so i started worrying a lot less about my mere V8 M3 sitting in the garage! Past: Bmw M3 Coupe 57, 335d Coupe 56, Audi RS4 06, RR Sport TD HSE 05,

Any views on Tracking devices? - Predictably the Insurance has jumped up and they're talking trackers if I have to replace it.

On the other points I'm getting the house alarm updated so as it has a Panic button which sets off the alarm immediately, rather than wait the 30 secs or so it does now , maybe this will spook any other would be thieves -

Other points are well noted, never considered about being followed before

I know it's simplistic to say this but isn't it ridiculous that having a nice motor means you instantly become a target to have ALL your possesions AND family put at risk?

When (More like if!) they do get caught, does the punishment fit not only the crime but also the repercussions and knock ons effects such as worry and fear of it happening again as well as the cost to your insurance and of ramping up your security even further?

NO! Does it f Censored k

Nowhere is safe though. Cyprus used to have one of the lowest (Reported) crime rates in Europe up until fairly recently. EU immigration policy has seen to that and now they recommend fitting burgular alarms which up until recently were completely unheard of!

Sadly, I can only see it going one way Sad 06 RRS TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony, PTI, Running Boards, Privacy, S/C Grille/Vents, Stormers, Tasmods, Black Badge Soon...
