After a somewhat exhausting conversation with LR yesterday and today, their "buzzword" for this issue is that the knockety knock is, and I quote: "a characteristic of the vehicle" and is "an inherent part of the car".

I put it to them that if that was indeed truthful, then all would make the noise. Before making such BS statements, I suggested they use some kind of Dictionary / Thesaurus:

Characteristic - a distinguishing trait, quality, or property It sure is a quality....of bad design.

Inherent - involved in the constitution or essential character of something as above.....a bad character and thoroughly embarrassing for LR

It seems they now require the car in again (6th attempt). There is now talk of replacing the ARC unit completely instead of the repeat procedure of replacing bushes and arm trails which do nothing.

Not that they will give a Censored , but if this fails, cancellation of the 5.0 will be immediate.....enough is enough. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad My Gladiators:

RRS S/C HST - respect of the highest order
Freeloader 2 SE with all the toys - my baby RR
Merc SL55 AMG - Tarmac ripper!

Disco3 - Gone
Defender 90 TD - Gone
FFRR Vogue - Gone
BMW X5 4.4 - Gone
LR Defender 300Tdi - Gone

"a characteristic of the vehicle" and is "an inherent part of the car".

What a load of BS, why in most cases does it not knock until the car has covered several thousand miles

If this is the case why doesn't it say this in the sales brochure or described to buyers by the sales goon.

Why don't we go to Watchdog as a group so this goes national and see what LR response is to it.

Sorry to all.... been very busy. Could tell you, but I would have to kill you Rolling with laughter

Anyway, I am planing and although a tad disappointed only 15 owners can commit to protest, I understand that many of you are very busy too. So as the original thread about "knocking" said strength in numbers I ask that even if you don't fancy a trip to Gaydon please click here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio...port.shtml and submit your RRS knocking problems (and other build issues) as I have done this morning Bow down

I am working on some other avenues too, I will keep you posted

GONE - RRS HSE TDV8, Java, Black, Privacy Glass, TV - Side Steps - Tasmod Sills - Clear Side Lens

Done. Thumbs Up

Considering they normally are baraged with dodgy window company complaints etc I do not hold out much hope from the Beeb. Big Cry

"Other avenues" seems more relevant and direct action, even with 15 cars, is good enough for some press coverage etc. Question

.........Wokka, no pressure, but we are ALL counting on you Whistle Whistle My Gladiators:

I agree with Will_wonka - even 15 cars strategically placed infront of their main gates will get their and the press' attention.

How much would it cost for some sort of newspaper advert, informing other people who are not forum members about your plans on the protest etc

Might get the numbers up Question

I would put the RRS in the same regime as the 90's B&Q kitchen in terms of build quality and general irritability Laughing

For a 45K car (100 aussie), you should and get a whole lot more in terms of experience.. Thumbs Up yet another Pommie living in Sydney
