SAT NAV CD COMING TO NEW ZEALAND?

Anyone know when and if the DVD Navigation mapping will ever arrive in NZ. Word has it they are going to put it on the Australian mapping DVD. Anyone?

My dealer says "towards the end of the year" !!!!

We currently have the Oz maps on our CD which is worse than useless - try an Ozzie address and see what happens

In the mean time you can play with the "offroad" nav, look up Google earth and note your destination lat. and long., enter as a route. It works provided you get the little lady to tell you where to head etc as you go - very accurate from my experience and a good toy in the interim TDV6 (Sep'06)/Buckingham Blue/Ivory Prem/Prem ICE/Privacy Glass +++.

Bad news.

Just spoken to my dealer again regarding availability of NZ maps

Now it's "Second quarter of next year" - testing is being carried out butdelivery isn't getting any closer.

Very frustrating TDV6 (Sep'06)/Buckingham Blue/Ivory Prem/Prem ICE/Privacy Glass +++.

Navigation Disk arrival date

Spoke with the dealer in Wellington today. He advised that the DVD should be here by years end. So it seems sometime between Dec 07 and Jul 08!

Out of interest, what do you get charged if you spec satnav on your cars given it's a function you can't use because the DVD doesn't exist?

Spec'd satnav and got it. However it was part of the standard NZ spec so don't know actual individual cost. Arrived with Aussie CD which allows Off Road Navigation only at this point. Can enter Aussie address to go to but the lady in the box advises me that there are no roads between here and there - funny that. NZ based CD is due as in presvious postings (i..e. no-one knows when - but it's getting closer. I don't expect to pay anything when it does arrive as spec. sheet stated "subject to availability" - Cheers! TDV6 (Sep'06)/Buckingham Blue/Ivory Prem/Prem ICE/Privacy Glass +++.

Have you tried the Navteq website - if you can get a Garmin GPS with routing in NZ then their maps are usually Navteq and Navteq also supply the LR map dvd's. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

Sat Nav Disk

End of last year; We are hoping New Year; and, almost the middle of this year has been and gone. Are our dealers or the importer able to provide an accurate arrival date for this technology? I know we are a tiny market but this is pretty poor form. Your thoughts? Crying or Very sad
