are they feasible?................downsides?..........comments?.........cost?

They are feasible, I think US-based member Murdered Out has them on his.

Downsides:

High purchase cost and replacement tyres, ride quality on UK roads, potential limitation of all suspension heights, absolutely no offroad capability without damage, high likelihood of on-road damage too. High possibility that people will point and laugh.

Upsides:

They might look good if you chose a quality design, but why impact everything else? If you want bigger wheels, a set of 22" Supersports should suffice

Can be done, and with right wheel choice will look amazing,

but initial cost from 22" to 24" is a massive jump as they are not commen size

tyre replacement is a massive cost

ride wont be that much worse , and suspension should be ok for clearence

Thanks.........prices for 24" wheels are circa 5K which I don't think is tha bad based on the fact I paid 5K for 20" AC Schnitzer wheels on my BMW.

I have also found 26" wheels!!!!!!!! on t'interweb, do these fit? If so where do I get the drugs to sell that are required with wheels of this size?

Can honestly say I've never seen 26s on an RRS... imho 24s are too big, but I'm older than you and more curmudgeonly Might be worth having a trawl through rangerovers.net and seeing what happens over there, the septics like their big wheels.

24s will go on, but the only widely available tyre is a 305/35/24 which makes the rolling radius too big (way too big). You can get 275/30/24 and other sizes, but they are all too big and quite dificult to get hold of. In fact 285/35/22 is slightly too big, you should really use a 295/30/22.

If anyone really wants 24" wheels we can supply them, but if you choose a 22" wheel that looks big, like the Vogue or similar, then a 22" is more than enough. I must admit a 24" does look good IMO in the right style.

Don't forget RRSport users get a 5% discount!!

I'd be interested to see the 24" alloy design your looking at - I find sometimes it makes the discs look way to small and can actually ruin the look of the car - any pics of what your considering?

I know what you mean about the small discs thing. Some wheels are really open and can make them look like they are off a Fiesta! If you choose 'open' wheels you get the disc problem like these:




But if you choose a wheel that is 'closed' you don't see as much disc and the look is better.




24s fill the arches better for me, but you just have to put up with the larger rolling radius. I really like the second picture (5 spoke) despite the small discs!

With 24s you really have to want them to go for it. Most people are happy with 22s and to be honest a good set of 22s look amazing and you don't have any problems. You can drop the car over the 24s, but depending on what tyres you run you might get a bit of touching on the inner arch. Usually people who go for 24s are not concerned with practicalities and just want the big wheel look.

Like most things it's down to personal taste and everyone is different.

There is no reason why you would need 24s when 22s look like this.

Agreed, unless it's a show car - you will damage them. Not a matter of if, but when...
