New Site Sponsors Introduction

Hi Everyone

We have just become site sponsors so I thought I would introduce ourselves. I am John Bishton and I own Designer Wheels, a specialist alloy wheel retailer based on the Wirral near Liverpool. We specialise in mid to high end alloy wheels and can supply packages from all the major manufacturers. We can supply Vogue, Hawke, Individual, Lenso, Finichi, Avarus and Driv to name a few. We do not sell replicas as we have seen too many problems with them (cracked wheels are not good on a car that weighs 2.7 tonnes!!), there are some well made replicas out there but there are also some that I would not put on a car weighing ½ as much as a RRS.
We can also supply and fit H&R lowering modules, these are the best on the market and are not as expensive as all the other ‘branded’ units. Take a look at our web site at www.designerwheels.co.uk and have a look at what we offer or give me a call on 0151 343 0003.

My brother owns Total Tinting and is probably one of the best independent tinters around. He can fit window tints of any shade and can answer any of you questions on the legalities of window tinting. He is also able to tint windows in homes (conservatories especially) and commercial building.
He offers a 5 year warranty on all vehicle films and a lifetime warranty on all fitting, so you know he is confident in his work. Give him a call on 0151 334 7401 if you need any advice.

Finally, we offer upgrade packages that include alloy wheels, lowered suspension and window tints, check out the Designer Wheels web site for package details.

Thanks
John.

Bargain Alloy Wheels!

Hi

I have a set of alloy wheels in sotck that are a cancelled order and I need to get rid of them as they are taking up space. They are ZE Forged 3 piece wheels and are top of the range alloy wheels. They are made from 6061 T6 aerospace grade aluminum alloy and are fully forged/cnc machined (and hence light weight), the rims are high litre polished and the centres are hand finished in a brushed satin. The wheels are ceracmic clear coated (very hard) so they are UK weather proof. They are fitted with 285/35/22 Toyo Proxes S/T and are ready to fit.
These usually go for in excess of £5k, but as the original customer lost lost his £1700 deposit (!!!) I am willing to let these go for £3600 inc VAT, which is about the same price as a set of Kahns!!!!

If anyone is interested give me a call on 0151 343 0003.

Thanks
John.

Hi John, welcome to the forum from us also.

I've got a Merc S320 CDI 2006/56 LWB model,
Has standard Merc 18" 5 spoke (boring Yawn) alloys on it..

Was always fine, but now i've got the 7 series and the A8 parked next to it with 20" wheels, they look a bit bland now... have you got any AMG wheel packaged, 19/20"?
Pic of car right now:

Compared to the 7 and the a8:

Lowering is fine, what about raising? I could have done with an extra 25mm or so above offroad hight over the weekend can this module do both raising and lowering? Sons of dogs come eat flesh

Unfortunately the H&R units only lower the car for road use. I will investigate to see if we can get units that can raise your car safely for off road use.

You can have your suspension system altered to that the offroad setting is higher than standard. In the UK any company with the latest Autologic set up should be able to plug into your car and alter the setting on the offroad setting so it is higher. I don't know if you will get 25mm extra as I don't think the system will go that high, but the Autologic kit will do it. The H&R unit we sell lowers the car and alters the set up so it is better for fast(er) road use, the Autologic alteration will keep everything as it is now and just raise the offroad setting.
I hope this helps.

John.

Now that sounds useful! Bet my local LR dealer won't do it without invalidating the warranty though................. but I take my 90 to a non franchise LR specialist who has Autologic so will see what they can offer! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

TDv8 HSE - Stornoway Grey with ebony and straight grain walnut wood-a-like interior with towpack, Tasmods. The best car I have ever owned
Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road
