Best Bicycle Carrying Solution?

Chaps. Your advice please.
Looking to carry 2 bikes. Maybe 3 in a year or two.

Guess I news the tow hook and a bike carrier. But which one is best?
Do I need electrics to go with it?

Thanks in advance

if you look in my gallery you will see attached to tow bar a bracket for bike carrying... two tubes slide into it, it is clear of obsructions and can carry upto three bikes..... you do need the adjustable tow bar though.......

I have a Thule Euroway on a detachable tow hook. You need the electrics if you want lights on the back which is best because the bikes will block the lights. You can fit the electrics in a couple of hours and they only cost £80. Thule is real quality kit. 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8, Stornoway Grey

Yes if your lights are in any way obscured - but unless you want to start trailing a pikey van then you only need the single plug and not the twin. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

TDv8 HSE - Stornoway Grey with ebony and straight grain walnut wood-a-like interior with towpack, Tasmods. The best car I have ever owned
Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

I have the Thule Euroway, carries three, tilts from the door if needed, folds flat, includes lighting board, locks in place, very pleased with it - got it from somewhere like roofracks.co or .com around £180 from memory.

The tow hitch. Is that where the red connector that the tow hook attaches to or is that the tow hook itself. Ideally , I'd prefer not to buy a tow hook. Range Rover Sport SC - Java / Tasmods / Skirts

Three options I know of pro's and con's with each but think the tow ball / hook mounted option is the best.

Tow ball mounted
Rear door mounted carrier - never looked into
Roof mounted - easy to get to ... Rolling with laughter

I have not seen anything that'll mount to the socket area ...

I know the first year we had the RRS we went to France camping - tow hook and carrier more than doubled the cost of the holiday Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Hook mounted carrier is also most convenient IMO

I've got a great bike carrier. It carries up to 4 bikes and goes on your detachable tow bar. You need the electrics as its got a trailer board on the back.
Its a Mottez. Best one I've seen for carrying bikes, as it doesn't attach to the car and you can still get in your boot. Very Happy Wink RRS HSE TDV6 BLACK 2008.5 my SIDE STEPS, 20" ALLOYS, PRIVACY GLASS all ok so far
