Had a bit of a situation yesterday. Left my black RRS parked in a field for a good 5 hours in the baking sun, when I returned to the vehicle I unlocked it, opened the drivers door, got in and pulled the door closed. Problem was it wouldn't catch ! I thought I had something caught in the door like the seatbelt buckle or something, but no. I got out and tried outside door handle, still wouldn't close. Eventually after pacing around like a madman I wiggled my key in the lock mechanism, still wouldn't do the trick. I moved the vehicle so the door wasn't in direct sunlight and fired up the A/C. After about 15-20 mins I tried to close the door again and it closed tight ! Since then I have had no problems, just wondering if anyone else had experienced such an incident.

The door latch is adjusted incorrectly. Normally it works OK but when the metal (the body shell, door and latch)expands in this hot weather, that expansion is enough to put the latch out of it's working tolerance. When the metal cools and shrinks back within the tolerance, it works OK again. Your dealer just needs to adjust the latch so it doesn't happen again. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.
