I'm actually starting to question whether petrol is the way to go next.

That is cheap Flydrive, in some places it has stayed at more than £1.30 a litre.................................. but I noticed yesterday that at the Shell station where I normally get my diesel the price has fallen back to £1.159 a litre which is 1p less than it was before the shortages. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

You guys still have it easy - it's averaging out about £1.22 foe diesel here - which is over EU 1.50

I've been running RRS SC and it was much cheaper to buy than equivalent diesel performance wise and if you do say 12k miles per year the lower cost of car and stacks more fun listening to the engine roar and supercharger makes up for the slightly thirsty car. It drives and handles better too as the engine is 100kg lighter and performance is instant at almost any reves. You can get the early SC for mid to late £20ks now which is much less than any TDv8! it will of course continue to devalue faster than diesel!

Andy it will be interesting to read your comparison once you have had the TDv8 a while - I think you will be the first person here to have run an S/C and then the TDv8, quite a few of us have gone from TDv6 to TDv8 and the difference is huge.
