Can think of more practical cars to use as taxi's, like a Disco3

Doesn't Kam have a plate like that on the back of his Merc Limo? A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Tata TDv8 HSE - Stornoway/ebony and straight grain walnut with towpack, Tasmods and an HST grille. Coming soon LEDs in the headlights
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

Wasn't there a post on here about people registering high spec cars as taxi's to avoid congestion charge Question

Assuming, of course that the Pic was taken in London would that be a possibility? Confused _______________________________

Yes Jonty, there was. Ken and TfL have great difficulty believing that there is such a thing as a taxi version of the Rolls Royce Phantom or Lambo Murchilargo .
In March I was taken from Hamburg Airport into Hamburg City in a Disco3 Taxi, complete with Hamburg Taxi biege livery and the wipe clean leather-look plastic seats that taxis have! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

You could get away with using bus lanes and probably get the VAT back on your fuel if you become a company! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Hi Tim, no mate, our cars are all unmarked limo's, we have an exemption to just have the plates on board.
The only problem you get is: a) you need an operator with a license to add your car to their fleet.
so most of these so called licensed sports cars etc, are most probably the owners of the taxi firms who have added their own cars to the fleet to avoid congestion charges.. (or their mates cars)..
However for insurance purposes, to drive a licensed vehicle (with/without a visible plate) you have to have a drivers private hire license for the area the car is licensed in, so restricts the usage of your car down somewhat..

Disadvantages of having license: Annual renewal of license.
No saving on road tax (as far as i know!?)
Taxi/limo insurance costs a bomb.
All cars have to be MOT'd every year.

We're not allowed to run a 4x4 as a taxi/limo up here in Birmingham, if we could, i would already have various SC engined (lpg converted examples) on the drive! Past: Bmw M3 Coupe 57, 335d Coupe 56, Audi RS4 06, RR Sport TD HSE 05,
Current: 57 Bmw 730d Sport, 56 Merc S320 CDI L, 57 Merc Viano L 2.2CDI
