I can see the pairing with Pininfarina and Jaguar but the LR design team are very good at doing their own thing, they don't get everything right 1st time but they haven't done badly in the last 60 years with their iconic designs. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

TDv8 HSE - Stornoway Grey with ebony and straight grain walnut wood-a-like interior with towpack, Tasmods. The best car I have ever owned
Now departed - Giverny Green TDv6SE with Aspen and Parchment interior - nearly the best car I have ever owned
Staying - Epsom Green Defender 90 for playing off road

S, what's wrong with the D3 design, it's does exactly what it was designed to do - be the only car a big family will ever need to take their stuff to the tip, tow a caravan and be a people mover, only Volvo do big family cars better.
The D3 is far superior a design to the Disco2. OK so it looks like a Tranny Van from some angles but it's going to be very difficult for LR to improve on it when it comes to D4 time. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

I suppose the D3 isn't meant to appeal to anyone. D3 buyers buy it not because it looks good and LR are fortunate that is the case. It's an ugly car, but I appreciate it does it's job very well. From a looks point of view, I actually prefer the D2 to be honest although it's nowhere near as good a car as the D3.

Loose shed loads of weight Jay, and make them do more than 40mpg and 0-60 in less than 7 seconds at the same time, with a petrol engine! They don't need to change the exterior, just what the cars are made of A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

As I have said before - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I quite like it's "utilitarian" shape but then I think the X5 and X3, Toureg and Tiguan, and Cayenne and Q7 and now Q5 are all ugly as sin................................. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
