Is the mechanical whining noise when engaging the electronic park brake normal?

As long as it's not overly loud or grinding, yes. 

Thanks, it never has really worried me as i was prepared for all these little foibles associated with owning a Landrover. Just the character of the vehicle i suppose. You guys have prepared me well and i am enjoying ownership immensly. Looks,stlye,power,presence AND CHARACTER.

There was a recent TSB on the "EPB Screech On Apply/Release When Stationary"

There is some work to be done according to that TSB, so it will be prudent check it out. Malaysia Boleh!
