Top Gear USA

I found this in VIP Cultures web site, but as he had not posted it thought it might be of general interest to some.

American Top Gear

The hit show Top Gear is firing up their cylinders to bring the United States a breathe of fresh air. Top Gear USA is coming to a television near you and it will be gracing the airwaves of The Discovery Channel. With the creation of this new show will come an all new American cast, a test track to ring out those fancy cars on and their own studio. Let’s hope the pilot episode is just as good as the British version we’ve come to know and love and if it is, we’ll be getting a weekly dose of Top Gear here in the states. Now: Range Rover Vogue TD6, JE Stage 1. (Green!)

*Gone: Range Rover Sport Supercharged 4.2V8 (Silver)
*Gone: BMW M5 5.0V8 (Silver)
*Gone: Subaru Imprezza Turbo (Silver)

It could go either way... so far, the Americans don't have a great history of producing their own versions of popular BBC series. Have you seen their version of The Office? Or Coupling (died a death after 3 episodes if I remember)? Fingers crossed it's good - will be good to get a view on the American car market.
