Insurance costs?

I have just been reading a post and noticed one member being covered by Saga insurance. I was wondering what the differences are cost wise for car insurance betweeen members!

I am 35 and pay £377 for my TDV6 RRS which I think is quite good, lets see if i'm over or under paying! Thumbs Up Java Black TDV6 HSE - Java Grandes Marques 1/18 - Ducati 749s

No he's not - their quote for the TDv8 was mad, apparrently those over 50 years old aren't allowed to ever drive off the Queen's Highway and on the hills and through rivers - they wouldn't include offroad use! So far any dealings I have had with SAGA have been a load of sh Censored t, about the only thing that I could save money on was a cruise..................................... er no thanks! My better half and I are both 55 and both had accidents in the past year (had 6 years protected no claims) 405 with M&S 200 excess.
Wont use M&S next year though as they tried to impose an additional 15 a month after as we couldnt supply a LR document confirming the alarm spec.
Its their way of hooking you and then getting a little extra.

Have a look in the back of the owners manual there are copies of a heap of the test certificates reproduced there, one of them may be the Thatcham accreditation cert. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

Cheers Tim, I never thought to look there. I called LRand the Dealer but both said they dont provide a certificate as its a standard FF item. M&S said its a standard request they have. I think they hope 15 is small enough to not bother about as they take it automatically from the card used for the premium after a number of daysif the certificate is not provided. TDV6 HSE 2.7 07MY Java Black, Ivory Leather Ebony Dash, Privacy Glass, 20" 10 spoke alloys, Sunroof, Carstylingstudio Java/Chrome Grill set, Exhaust Tips by mjlperformance, Side Steps, Clear side repeaters, Mud flaps and Land Rover dust caps.

LR Insurance also ask if the car has a Thatcham approved alarm system...................... strange as they have the full specs of the vehicles anyway! They are absolutely convinced that my 1996MY Defender has a Thatcham alarm and I wrote and told that no it doesn't - I got a nice letter back saying thanks for advising us of the modification to your vehicle................................... thing is it has never had an alarm or immobliser since it left the factory, but if it's in the computer then it must be right! A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
