Tata's ownership means investment and stability in at least the medium term - why sell up just because ownership changes? Confused Neutral Things were looking a bit shaky under Ford given their problems in the US...

Did everyone stop buying Tetley tea because Tata own them? No..... Martin

Nope. I think Raj has his head very tightly screwed on and sees a good thing when he sees it. Things can only get better albeit only if it remains largely untouched and he lets LR continue with their current thinking. Very Happy . Anything like a move of production would remove the kudos for most people, so only then would I consider ditching......and that is not a negative comment, honest!! Whistle My Gladiators:

So having digressed......what is the issue with this dealer. They're a bit in the middle of no where so I'd a thought they be glad of your custom or perhaps they don't see many customers. MY08 RRS TDV8 HSE, Stornoway Grey, Ebony and Zabrano, sunroof, hybrid tv, premium ICE, rear E diff, privacy glass, side steps, mud flaps, S/Grey mirror covers, Venture shield, tasmods, smoked indicators, Larini sports exhaust, etc, etc.

TBH, I think it was the total lack of interest. It was all quite depressing as an experience overall. When I arrived it was empty and they were all just sitting around. Cannot remember the guys name that came upto me, but he could not seem any more disinterested, in fact, Ghandhi would have been more interested and we all know his card was punched years ago!

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I guess that's just it, when you are selling "premium" product, you cannot have a bad day. Ok, turn up in a beaten up Escort and it is unlikely that you are going to buy an £70k FFRR, but you might....and that's just it, might may just turn into a commission windfall. Maybe I am getting picky in my old years (36!!!) but I expect good CS whenever and wherever I go now. I am convinced I am going to end up like one of the old gits on the muppets!!!! Surprised

A. People command better attention, after all we are spending 4 times the price of an average car, so CS should be 110% at ALL times

and

B. Not one attempt was made as to whether I was a genuine or a complete timewaster, he simply rambled on and kept looking out the window occassionally. This down to the fact, as I learnt later, becuase he was expecting a customer for a FL1.....as soon as they arrived he switched off quicker than a striped lizard on hot asphalt.

Things like that irritate me and the sole reason why I would never return. Now I am not saying that I should take priority here (although naturally, I do!!! Whistle ), but he should have either got someone else to come over and handle my enquiry or taken my details and asked if it was possible to return. He did neither, which is the sole reason why I would never return, ever.

As a comparitor, it reminded me of entering a Rover dealership when Rover were on the verge of going under, all very depressed and a complete lack of interest. Something you may get away with selling £8-20k cars, but not when selling a premium brand where the avge price is £40k+.

Overall, pretty p*$$ poor and for that reason the quicker LR root these types of stealers out of their network the better.

Whine complete. My Gladiators:

Hartwell Oxford and Northampton must be worst dealers, Mad many issues but eg: purchased new disco in oxford, not all paperwork signed so arranged for it to be completed in northampton branch, was PHYSICALLY assaulted by dealer principal>!!!! as he pushed me from his dealership due to not buying from him but signing the papers there.... (appology and free accessories given to keep the deal), later purchased a FFRR, later had abs electrical fault, refused to repair it as "we believe you may have used a hose to wash the car" said Northampton.... later on trying to arrange deal on newer FFRR told "not enough profit in the deal so cant help you"......! Marshall Bedford every time for me. FFRR and last year the RRS... excellent sales/aftersales Thumbs Up
