Have noticed all the Motorway signs showing 'Please Check Fuel Levels' recently - as pricing is now well over £1/litre I cant imagine I'm ever going to forget to fill up

I started to think it was a conspiracy to depress by reminding me how much I'm spending on Diesel at the moment, but it seems not

Apparently almost 60 drivers ran out of fuel in only a 2 weeks period in March on the Motorways in the West Midlands , hence the campaign

We have the same campaign here both in France and Italy. There are also signs at the roadside giving fuel prices and distances. Of course the cheaper fuel is always the furthest away.  RRS TDV6 HSE 2007 - Buckingham Blue, Ebony Premium Leather, 20" Wheels, Privacy Glass & Blue Furry Dice.

I now carry the latest maps from Sainsbury and Tesco in the car when I travel long distances - although I can just make it without the yellow light coming on in the TDv8 from Stirling to Southampton I tend to fill up long before the low fuel warning comes up. A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.

I ended up paying £1.19p per litre for Unleaded today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely, ridiculous. The Diesel price is enough to make your eyes water......£1.31!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason,

1. Miles from anywhere and
2. Like a numptie, I forgot to look at the gauge.....

So my own fault................Dick Turpin at least had the decency to wear a mask

To state my distaste and for the 1st time in ages, I put £12.50 in as to get me to somewhere cheaper.......which was a waste of time considering it was not much cheaper at £1.12p per litre at some scummy little Murco garage. My Gladiators:

In czech republic Diesel cost 31 krones - This is about £ 0.90 - 0.95 £ RRS 4.2 S/C from Czech republic...

£1.90ppl is purley scandalous...the 's !!

I read something yesterday about the price of mineral diesel that will make every single diesel owner cry into their corn flakes........its all to do with the marine trade and effectively the trawlers and hauliers of 99% of our goods around the world. Due to the great CO2 swindle, these vessels will have to use car grade fuel instead of the dirtier stuff they use today, which in effect means only one thing, yep a price rise.

Net effect of this, estimated pump price for diesel will be £1.73!!!!!!!!!!!!! The legislation is currently being discussed and agreed by the maritime people, if passed and agrred, expect the price to jump in the next 3-6 months. The only plus point, unleaded will remain roughly the same, that is, only if Darling decides NOT to terminate the UK economy completely!!  My Gladiators:

What they failed to mention Willi is that most of the ship's in deep sea trade don't use diesel for their engines. The 112,000hp, triple turbo, 12 cylinder lump on my ship CANNOT run on auto diesel at all - it would destroy the engine through excessive wear. I doubt very much that even the greenest folks would want to pay for the re-engining of the world's containership fleet seeing as the engines come in at about $40 million a pop for ships the size of mine - 340m long x 46m wide and 15m draft and 10,000 x 20ft containers in one lift, which these days isn't a very large ship as we are now up to 15,000 x 20ft units size ships. What it would take for something to happen would be for everybody to stop buying cheap mass produced goods that could easily be made here, from China. Same with foodstuffs - we regularly carry refrigerated container loads of Marks and Spencer ready made Chinese Meals out to China................................... mad!

BTW the lump above is designed to operate most efficiently at "high" speed, this of course is all relative as high speed for us is 90rpm which gives 25 knots on 300 tonnes a day. We can reduce the fuel consumption by slowing down but then the engine starts burning lub oil....................... 75 RPM gives about 21 knots on 180 tonnes a day but we cannot operated for prolonged periods at that speed as the exhaust gas particulate gets trapped in the uptakes and is likely to catch fire A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
