Shocked The cheek of it Shocked

Ok, I am becoming obsessive about this now. I have even re-measured myself and I am infact 1.87m tall, which equates to 6.1351706 feet.

I can proudly boast that I am not a circus act and in fact my legs are approx. 1000mm of the total 1870mm, so body is 870mm long!!!! Some have commented, perfectly formed Whistle Whistle

WRT the squab to base measurements - mine seem way off. All settings on the lowest and I get nowhere near the settings that KIWICOOL gets. It does seem my seat is set higher. I have pushed, pulled, tweaked etc and that is as low as they go. I even managed to break the recline button Rolling Eyes ....it was weak anyway!! Whistle

If 6'4 upwards are having no issues, seems both myself and VA at 5'10 have unique seats aka Censored seats. I am now convinced this snapshot was taken at the Gatport Airwick x-ray station on my recent return from Switzerland!! http://www.sciencedaily.com/images/2007/03/070311201958.jpg My Gladiators:

For anyone still interested and boy this has become a real bug-bear for me, I am now raising this in various channels, both R&D at LR, LR management and LR suppliers through dealer support!!! Shocked Shocked

In no uncertain terms, the seat is too high, period. My neck is becoming a real issue and I am not willing to change to a waddling FFRR just becuase the seats are Censored in the RRS.

Will report back on any responses, but FYI, the seat base manufacturer is:

Mr. Green Mr. Green

The first time I have ever wanted to be Ronnie Corbett size!

Sent a snottogram to Jonathan Edwards yesterday via fax and snail mail, not exactly expecting LR to come and resolve this as a priority job, but havestated that it is a miscalculation of design and I will not be taking ownership of the 5.0 unless something is done. It has become such an obsession, I am now asking random members at work to come and sit in my car !! Shocked Rolling Eyes

Latest stats are:

6'5 - forget it ! Shocked
6'3 - head actually ON the headlining Crying or Very sad
6'1 - same as me, 1/4 inch to spare Big Cry
6'0 and under - 3/4 inch plus on a sliding scale Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

I did state in my little manifesto that maybe the literature should carry a warning - 6'1 and under only or will seriously damage your neck.

As I said, I am not expecting much from the whine session, but with the amount of LR's I own, I would hope they are listening. Crying or Very sad

Lest me see what happens, otherwise it could be case of going back to a FFRR albeit S/C and TBH, I do not really fancy that at all. Sad My Gladiators:

I think it must be your car rather than a design fault.... I'm 6'4" and had plenty of headroom (at least a couple of inches) in mine Question

I think the bearing is:

1. Seat pitch, i.e. back being in the up position or very relaxed

2. Sunroof option

Either way, for me it is a real headache. It is not exclusive to my car, I have tried numerous showroom models now and all are the same. Big Cry

Any local giants who own a Sport who would like to demonstrate their adequate headroom please PM me......I have got to see this. I may even buy a beer or two!! Shocked My Gladiators:

Mine didn't have a sunroof, granted, but I prefer a fairly upright seat too, so certainly wouldn't have been pitched back too far.

Hmmm. A couple of inches is a lot (ask any female!) Whistle

As I stated previously a 6'3 person had his head on the roof lining - so this is totally and utterly baffling me. **I NEED A DEMO GIANT PEOPLE**

Maybe I am a circus act after all and both myself and all the people who have tried it have been secretely captured / rounded up as some South of England freak show !! Maybe we are all disproportionate and the last of the Surrey pigmie tribe or something Shocked

Off back to my desk now....or is that cage. Big Cry My Gladiators:

The SWMBO is a few inches shorter than I am and has longer legs than me, when she has been driving and I don't use the lazy entry I get jammed against the roof. It is probably down to body length
ps. I have the sunroof option on the car ... not the head Wink Sons of dogs come eat flesh

Again I'm 6'7" and fit in with the factory sunroof. I also have a very upright seat due to needing to take car of my back - a hangover from rugby days as a youth!

In terms of my height split, I am a little long legged with an inside leg of about 37"...

First thing i did before entertaining buying a RRS was ask the Stealer if I could sit in one (both with and without the sunroof) to see if I fitted, as i have many experiences of not being able to previously buy cars I liked because I couldn't fit! MX-6 (many years ago); RX 8 (a couple of years ago) to name a couple of examples...

Will I'm assuming you test drove before buying, so how was your individual issue not picked up before you parted with cash?? 2008 TDV6 WHITE/EBONY
