Annoying Rattle from Passenger Side

I've had a noise coming from the passenger side for some time now. It sounds like it's coming from under the front passenger seat.

It's a tinny/metallic/whirring/tapping - a bit like the sat nav disc firing up.

It occurs on smooth roads and gets worse the faster I go.

I've removed the Sat Nav disc and it still occurs.

It's been in under warranty and the dealer replaced a speaker claiming that was it, but the noise returned.

Before I stick in the dealer's for another fruitless few days, has anyone experienced similar or have any suggestions?

Sounds like the sat nav unit as I seem to remember that is where you would have removed the disc from.

With the disc removed, does it still make the noise? Does the unit read the disc ok when it is in place?

Could just be a noisy unit that works ok, but not as quietly as other peoples Question

Yep, I'm pretty convinced it's the sat nav unit, but it makes the same noise with no disc in place.

I had a quick look at disconnecting the unit to prove it once and for all but haven't tried that yet as the cables were a bit fiddly to remove.

Do you have sill plates? I found that I hadn't stuck the drivers side one down hard enough and it was rattling on the underside of the door at speed on less than velvet smooth roads.

Check your external door trim - if this is loose it vibrates the faster you go and makes a sound like the one you've got.

You can stop the rattling by buying a replacement handbag I think.

Replacement? Don't you mean additional hand bag?

I suppose - replacing the one she currently has, which will get chucked in the back of the cupboard only to find that in two weeks time, she has to go back to it because the new one doesn't have enough pockets, straps and buckles.
