I thought this was a serious NO NO?

If you have a crash whilst the TV was on, even if the passenger was the one watching it you could be in big trouble with the law.

Usual risk assessment applies, npinks. While enabling it is not illegal, it's clearly not big and clever to watch the telly whilst driving. But fair point, which is why LR don't enable it in the factory, thus removing any responsibility Very Happy

Just make sure you headbutt the power button as you crash. Bingo, no issue!

I did a little digging and found this post on a AV forum

Quote:
Under Regulation 109 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986, it is an offence to drive a motor vehicle on a road if the driver is in such a position as to be able to see, whether directly or by reflection, a television screen showing anything other than information:

(a) about the state of the vehicle or equipment;

(b) about the location of the vehicle and the road on which it is located;

(c) to assist the driver to see the road adjacent to the vehicle;

(d) to assist the driver to reach his destination.

As the driver you can only have view of a screen for other purposes when you are parked. A lot of Sat Navs will give verbal commands so you needn't look at the map.

As somebody further down said your Censored if you drive past a TV shop then Laughing

Are you sure this is still current or there isn't an updated version of the Act? In 1986, when that was made law, how many cars had Satnav let alone screens showing other useful info....

Hi Folks

Just called Prestige Audio - they've told me that they've moved out of the Car Audio market completely now, and can't advise any alternatives.
