Just been reading this, can't see it how it would send prices soaring as forecourt diesel is just more refined, it all basically starts at the same point in the cracking process.

How much are you paying in the UK now for Diesel, when i left it was around the 90 pence mark. It has leapt in price in Oz, its now 76P a litre (local garage rates i saw today), when i first got here it was about 50 pence a litre, so 50% hike in just 2 years. yet another Pommie living in Sydney

I'm going to start making biodiesel. I can do it for about 9p/litre and I can make and use 2500 litres/year, legally without paying anything in tax.

Agreed - I suppose nobody has really attempted here yet due to the general age of people's cars but they've been running that old Merc on 5th gear on chip fat for a couple of years now with no problems, so it obviously works |
