The last time i ever went to purchase something there was the last time i will ever go into the shop

I was buying a £1500 laptop and two iPod mini's, asked the PC World advisor if there would be a discount on the ipods and laptop, and he broke off from his text message he had started typing and gave the answer " I can do the 1st iPod for £140 and because your buying a second i can do that for £140 too "

I promptly called his manager over and kicked up a right fuss, firstly he was texted during a sale and his attitude towards me was really bad

Manager bent over backwards, sent the lad home, and gave me a nice 20% discount off the lot, (it help that another sales person Heard him) to try and stop me reporting it to head office etc, with that sort of discount i made the purchase but my business has gone elsewhere since

Same thing happend to me when i got my iMac from there Ask some lad if he can help me with a Mac he said "na the guy that knows about the macs only works on a Saturdays"

I said to him "so your selling stuff that you can only really sell one day a week that's a bit s isn't it"?

his reply "yeah i know" told him to go away in the end Had to buy it for there as i had gift vouchers to use RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

. . . I find that Pcworld / Toys R us or any of these big stores tend to employ from the bottom of the pack .. Steer well clear if you want advice ... But as S says buy online !

I once interviewed a guy for a position as a Hardware Support Engineer - His CV read ok but when I dug deeper at the interview he had basically made it up, or copied someone elses! Best bit was that he had put down, "experienced with full range of HP Designjet printers" Eventually after failing to answer the most basic questions on them It turned out that he had been employed on a project where is sole job was to Unbox the Designjet & bolt on it's legs!! he didn't even have to power the bloody thing on never mind configure it and connect it to the network

Needless to say I terminated the interview

Guess where I saw him working a few weeks later

Obviously I'd missed something when I interviewed him
