how to change oil filter and what's the best oil for a TDV6 engine?

Couldn't tell you about the filter but the best oil is Castrol Magnatec 5W30, that is what LR and the dealers use

Y17 SUF I quote from Owners' Manual page 200 - Engine Oil - Diesel Engines - Spec SAE 5W-30 meeting specification WSS-M2C913-B Only. I have just topped up mine and recently when I visited the local dealer they gave me a free Castrol Top-up pack/kit that contains 1 litre of Castrol Magnatec 5W-30 oil............................
